"Regarded as one of the world's finest improv combos, Jagodowski
and Pasquesi practice a slow, patient performance style, allowing
the show to dictate their choices, and not the other way around.
Director Alex Karpovsky took the promise Jagodowski and Pasquesi
make to all of their audiences "Trust us, this is all made up" and
made it the title and thesis of his documentary on the duo, an exploration
of their history and artistic process framed around a stellar performance
at New York's Barrow Street Theatre. Sticking to a split-screen
format while Jagodowski and Pasquesi are off stage, Karpovsky alternates
between eight different camera angles during the performance, making
cuts that are as subject to the whims of the show as the performers.
Trust Us, This Is All Made Up is a unique dissection of
two unique minds, the science of their collaboration, and the rewards
that come from trusting your partner implicitly and getting out
of the art’s way. It’s also really effing funny."
Erik Adams, THE ONION
